Hispanic Democrat Calls Out Own Party For Lying About Family Separation At Border

A top Democrat just nailed his own party on lying about the ongoing, make-believe “crisis” of children being separated from their illegal alien parents when they attempt to sneak into the United States at the Southern border. In a stunning interview, he told the shocking truth that the mainstream media is ignoring. You don’t want to miss this.

Democrat Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Hispanic man, appeared on CNN on Saturday and admitted that the same family separations occurred during the administration of former President Barack Obama but the administration covered it up. Not to mention the fact that the media did not have any outrage about it at the time.

“It was kept very quiet under the Obama administration. There were large numbers of people coming in. The Obama administration was trying to keep this quiet,” Cueller said.

CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield produced a photo of migrant kids being held in cages from 2014 when President Obama was in power and Rep. Cuellar commented that he had shown similar photos during the Obama administration. He said the outrage now should have been shown then too because the number of children being held currently is similar to the number of children being held in detention houses during President Obama’s administration.

“We still see the numbers,” Rep. Cuellar said, before adding another inconvenient truth that the media has chosen to ignore. “Not all of them are being separated. Some of them are coming alone,” he pointed out.

“Keep in mind that, under the law, you can separate a child if that person — the adult — is not the real parent or the custodian, because sometimes we see situations where they’ll bring a child because they know of the policy that we have over here with children,” he said.

At a news conference on Monday, Rep. Cuellar also suggested that, if migrants really want asylum, they should follow the law regarding what asylum seekers have to do before being accepted; namely, applying for asylum in the first safe nation they reach. In this case, that would be Mexico.

“If somebody is in a country, and they’re claiming fear, and they’ve passed two, three countries to get over here, and in those countries, they could have claimed asylum … then when they get to the United States that would be taken into consideration,” he said, The Monitor reported. “The U.S. and Mexico are having that conversation right now. Unfortunately, President Trump is not the best advocate for Mexico,” he added.

That is a big shift that we could have in our immigration,” he said, noting that, if the asylum seekers did it properly, the United States would have many fewer migrants and therefore fewer families being separated.

This week, the House Appropriations Committee, of which Rep. Cuellar is a member, is set to meet to discuss the $750 million aid package he helped secure to assist central American nations. “Even now, the monies haven’t gotten there for the assistance,” Rep. Cuellar said. “The State Department has not done a very good job of getting that money to them, and we’ll be addressing that issue on Wednesday morning.”

It is refreshing to see a Democrat being truthful with the American people. It is not that he is supporting the policy of separating families, he isn’t, it is that he is telling people the hardcore truth about the fake outrage. He is telling the American people that this policy did not start with President Trump, that many of the children have come alone and others have been co-opted by adults not related to them in order to gain entry into the United States since they knew about the catch and release policy that the United States used to have.

It appears that, unlike many Democrats who want to use migrant children as a talking point for their campaigns, Rep. Cuellar is interested in helping the children and helping the United States. No matter what party you belong to, that is fantastic to see.

  1. BREAKING! The DNC and Obama Administration conspired to cover up family separation due to illegal border crossings between 2009 and 2017, no one showed any amount of shock at the news.
